Another correction: It is being pointed out that formal charges in the El Paso attack speak only of plain old regular assault-- indicating that no sexual-related charges will be filed, that perhaps the soldier was "merely" battered. It will probably be some weeks before any further details are known, if ever.
Heartbreaking. It's a sad fact, that we cannot predict who is harmless and who is not. I don't think anyone enjoys the idea of the kind of misery we all were witnessing under that bridge. The fact that many of those Haitian's ended perfectly safe and productive lives in Chile only to wind up under that bridge because of false rumors is just awful.
You have a wide clear view of so many aspects of these situations. Thank you for providing them to all of us out here, rather than the time-wasting gossip that the billion dollar me*dia is cranking out.

I am a humanitarian and good samaritan. I help anyone in dire need. But I am tired of worrying for my safety and my family's safety at night.

We're all human, we all get it wrong. But man, those words don't seem to hardly cover what we're seeing these days, do they? Very sad.
